A comprehensive picture of the geographical, scientific and professional mobility of Greek PhD holders is reflected in the results of the extensive census survey conducted by the National Documentation Centre (EKT) in collaboration with the Regional Development and Policy Research Unit (RDPRU) University of Macedonia.

Profile and scientific specialisation of new doctorate holders from Greek universities in 2020

1,681 new doctorates were awarded by Greek universities in 2020. 30.8% of the doctorates were in Medicine & Health Sciences, with 20.3% of doctorate holders having completed their studies in 4 years, according to statistics published by EKT.

A survey on the professional and geographical mobility of Greek PhD holders is being conducted by the National Documentation  Centre (EKT) in collaboration with the Regional Development and Policy Research Unit , University of Macedonia. This is an online survey of all Greek PhD holders aims to record their professional and geographical mobility, both in Greece and abroad, and to highlight the main parameters that affect their decisions.
